I fast-walked to the stable, a smile plastered on my face. Honor the finally here! Well...not, here, here. But here! UGH! Who was I kidding myself. the called me and said they just unloaded the horses (including Honor!) from the plane an hour ago! it was 6:00 am! why would Honor be here right now, at this second? for all I know, he is on the other side of Connecticut! But is that didn't stop me (and it didn't! BOOM!) Then I don't know what would.
Finally reaching the stable I checked the stall I was told Honor could use (and I had told his handlers to put him in if I were not there). No Honor. I went outside, then checked my home to be sure no one called. Nope.
I groaned and went outside, I checked the driveway, then quickly ran to the loading-unloading horses station. I had heard that there were other horses coming to camp along with Honor, that's why I had picked this flight. I groaned and called Honor (along with twenty other horses) handlers. "You got Jake." I heard on the second ring. "Hey Jake. It's Hannah Lei Morris, I'm Honor's owner. This may sound a little, momma bear-ish, but how many more stops before the Canterwood horses arrive?" I asked.
I heard 'Jake' sigh. "five." I stifled a groan. "Okay, and how long will that take?" I asked. "about an hour, they are so spread out, usually our route isn't so crazy, if there were a string behind us it would be all tied up in knots." he told me. "Connecticut has always been like this, sorry Hun." he told me.
"Its alright." I said. "I'll see you in an hour." I said and hung up.
Because I had an hour to go-I decided to check out the outside. It was a GORGEOUS morning, and pretty warm for 6:00am. I sung lightly to myself as I roamed around the pastures (near the driveway-of course).
When I came near the entrance, I watched for a minute, turned around and started again. When I hit the stable, I slumped against the wall and yawned...sitting with my hands on my knees for about 10 minutes by myself, I thought it was an illusion when I heard a semi-truck sized engine roaring down the long driveway...was Honor and the rest of the canterwood horses here?!
I got up fastly, making myself dizzy, but steadied myself, shaking my head...I was right. A big red semi-truck came down slowly, a ginormous white horse trailer behind the red cab.
I smiled as it came to a stop infront of me. "do you own one of the horses from the Equine Transit coming to Canterwood Crest Academy's camp?" I brown haired guy jumped out of the cab, and a another ent around to open the doors.
"Yes, sir. I'm Hannah Lei Morris, Honor's Owner." I told him.
"I believe we already talked. I'm Jake." he said. I nodded.
"Well, lets go gets your Thoroughbred, uh?" he asked.
I nodded. "Yes, sir!"
We went around to the back, just as his Jake's companion was leading out Honor.
He was wearing a white blanket, and shipping boots, along with a black nylon halter- exactly what I had last seen him in. "Hey, buddy!" I smiled and Honor shot his head up, and started prancing. "Ho!" the handler yanked on the lead rope, and when Honor kept prancing, the handler actually hit Honor.
That is when Honor bucked.
He didn't hit anyone (no one was there) but it was dangerous.
I was already soo mad at the handler, and when Honor did that (because of what the handler did) I walkde up to them, took Honor's lead, and when Honor was calm I yelled at the handler. "How dare you!" I said loudly (but not shouting) "That is no way to treat any horse! Not much less when the owner is standing right in front of you!" I told him. "Yeah Mark. Not cool man! Your only an apprentice! Get back in the truck and let me handle this." Jake told him. Mark slumped and went back into the cab. "Thank you." I muttered.
"No." Jake said. "Thank you for smacking some seance into him. He is my apprentice, and is not being payed for smacking around horses." Jake told me. I nodded. "I understand you already payed when Honor was being shipped?" he asked climbing up the ramp. I nodded. "Okay." Jake said. "Bye." I said and turned around.
"What was that?" I scolded Honor. He was usually soo sweet. "Bad boy." I said, Honor whinnied softly, his head held high sniffing the air.
"Whoa. Calm down boy." I said and brought him to his stall.
When I came back out to say another thanks to Jake, another person was there leading their horse away.
